Hello there! :)

Today I got 2 pretty polishes for you! Another Catrice and a Essence one, that I'm sure everybody knows already. I'm talking about Catrice - King of Greens and Essence - Make it Golden. First I swatched King of Greens and the name is absolutely perfect for this polish! But see for yourself:

This is 2 coats without TC. Such a beauty with yellow and green shimmer. No wonder it's the king of greens :P Application was a bit tricky, because it tends to leave bald spots, but if you are careful, you can do it!

And finally the sun comes out a bit more often - yay for sunlight pictures! :D

And I promised you guys to show you a comparison of the old and new brushes, that Catrice came up with this spring.

The first thing you may notice is that the new brush is rounded instead of flat at the tip. It's also a bit wider than the old one. I personally like the new brush waaaay better than the old one ... why? Because it's much easier to do a clean line at the cuticles with the rounded brush and I sometimes need only 2 strokes to cover the whole nail, because the brush is wider.

What do you guys think of the new brush ? Like it or hate it?

My next step was adding Essence Make it Golden. I didn't want to layer it over the whole nail, so I did a little gradient and for the accent nails I then covered the whole nail with 2 coats of Make it Golden.

Like it? I love it ! I think the green and the gold go very well together :)

Catrice - Browno Mars

Hello ladies!! (..and gentlemen) :P

I have a gorgeous polish for you today! It's another Catrice and it's called Browno Mars. Ha!

I just love the names Catrice comes up with :D I sometimes buy polishes just for their names

... am I the only one? :D

While I'm typing this post I am also listening to Dance in the Mirror by Bruno Mars :P

Here is this prettiness! Gorgeous right? Not usually my type of color, but I love this one!

This is 2 coats, no TC. It's a bronze kind of color with really pretty golden shimmer... or is it silver shimmer? It's hard to describe! It was very opaque with the first coat, but it still needs 2 coats. And I absolutely love the new brush!! I will do a comparison in my next post ;)

The second picture is the most color accurate. The first one is taken in daylight and the second one indoors with flash.

Berrylicious Leopard

.... or should I say: Dirty Leopard? Meeh, no, ... rather Berrylicious Leopard ;)

Why this weird title? Well, because I used Catrice's Dirty Berry and did a leopard pattern on it :D

I used Catrice Forget-Me-Not for the spots and Essence Mysterious Black to outline them. I like my purple leopard very much :) Animal prints will always be my favorite nail designs!

I mentioned that I got my 4 wisdom teeth pulled out a few days ago and I can't even open my mouth to eat stuff. So my meals consist of this:

Baby Food! Mhmmm I love it :D And because I love chocolate too much, I knew I couldn't resist 1 week without it...but I can't eat it, because it's to big...so what do I do? I cut it in little pieces :P

Haha, I just wanted to share that with you guys ;)
So, do you still have your wisdom teeth ? :D

Today's Swatch: Catrice - Dirty Berry

Well, here are my first pictures taken with my new camera .. I can see a huuuuge difference! :D

The first polish I wanna show you from my Germany Haul is Dirty Berry by Catrice. I think I forgot to show you the Catrice polishes I got, but oh well...you will see the swatches here the next days ;)

Dirty Berry is a beautiful blue-based purple polish with shimmer and a slight holo-effect. Yes, I said holo! :D I used 2 coats, no TC and the application was great! And it dried rather fast ;)

The holo is visible in sunlight or in pictures taken with flash. So gorgeous, isn't it ?

Oh there are so many places in the world I would love to visit!! But if I could visit only one it would be Rome. I was there once and this city fascinated me. The people, the culture, the food...just everything. I would love to live there :)

Racing Stripes

Good morning everybody!

This post will be the last one with pictures taken by my phone :D Just so you know ;)

I did this mani a week ago and took some pictures outside in the snow again, to change up the scenery a bit.

You may think now "there is something different about her nails.." and that's true :P I filed my nails in a square shape! Well, almost square. I wanted to try this for so long, because I always see so beautiful square shaped nails on so many blogs, but now I know it's not meant to be for me. They don't suit me :))

Back to the polish: This is 2 coats Rimmel London - 239 Your Majesty and it's a gorgeous silver foil polish, just how I like it. :) Excuse the redness of my skin in this pictures but it was freezing outside! I couldn't feel my hands for 20 minutes after this pics :D

I wanted to add something to it, but I had no idea what. I was starring at my computer and my desktop wallpaper inspired me :D

So here is the beautiful inspiration:

Yep, my favorite car ;) And I tried to recreate the racing stripes on my nails:

I used tape and China Glaze Frostbite for the stripes. The picture is not the best, but you get the idea ;)

So ho do you like my nails with this shape? I honestly am glad to be back to my round shape :D

Germany Haul + New Hair Color

Hello, my lovelies!!!

Long time, no see ;) I'm so glad I have the time again to blog, because I really missed it!

So for my "comeback-post" I have a haul for you :D I am visiting my mom in Germany and of course I went shopping right away for German polishes! Yay! I miss Essence and Catrice so much back home in Romania, that I took 2 hours today to check out all the displays in the stores. :P

And here is what I got:

The whole Crazy Good Times Collection from Essence .. I thought this one would be long gone when I finally arrive here, but I was really glad I found i!

From left to right:

I'm so happy I bought a back-up bottle of Catrice - Forget-Me-Not, before they discontinue it!

And some beauty products I'm really excited about to try:

A natural cover moisturizing cream from Essence, Mousse Make-Up from Essence, Shower-Gel (I just bought it because I love the packaging :D), Garnier Shampoo with Cocos and Cacao (it smells delicious!), Essence Lip Tint from their Vampire's Love Collection, some Glitter Eyeliner, Purple (!) Lip Gloss from Essence and a green Creme Eyeliner.

But the best thing I got from my mom for my 20th birthday is this:

A Nikon D5100!! I couldn't believe it! I will be able to make really good photos now and color-accurate swatches! Yaaaay :D Although it make take some time til I manage to take really good pictures, they will be thousand times better than the ones I took with my phone, that's for sure ;)

I already thanked her 1000 times, but once again:

And this post is getting too long now, but I want to show you my new hair color!

I dyed my bottom half of my hair in Dark Chocolate Brown and the top half with Cherry Red. I wanted to try this for sooo long and I love it! Especially when I have a pony tail ;)

I saw so many blogs doing this tag and it seemed like a lot of fun, so thank you so much for tagging me!! :D Make sure to visit paint that nail to read her 11 facts and questions ;)

Alright, let's start with the 11 facts:
1. I loooove Asian food! I could eat that for the rest of my life :D
2. Another food thing: I like eating raw things :)) raw potatoes, raw batter, raw meat ...I'm weird I know :D
3. I love writing. Nothing in particular, just anything :P I once started copying the first Harry Potter book, just because I wanted to write something :))) But I stopped after 120 pages I think :D
4. I'm obsessed with cars, especially Mustangs. My dream is that I one day will own a GT500 Mustang from 2007 and his older brother, the 67' Mustang GT.
5. While we are still on the topic: I could drive all day long :) Give me my car, some music and I'm the happiest person alive ;)
6. I would love to speak Italian and Spanish fluently. I understand Italian, so it's at least something :P
7. I love mascaras .. and I know I have too many of them :D
8. I love the sea/water and swimming. Once I'm in there, you barely can get me out of there :D That's why I love spending my holidays at beaches in sunny countries :)
9. Before my nail polish addiction, I had another one: books! I still love them! In the past I went to rag-fairs (I don't know if it's the right word) and bought 10-15 books in one day, and I read them all within short time :) So yeah I was a book junkie, but now I have to study so much that I can't even remember the last time I read a book :(
10. I hope I will travel the world and see as many beautiful places as possible :)
11. I love anything that smells like cocos: candles, shampoo, body lotion ... etc. :)

1. Do you have a set up for taking pictures, if so what is it ?
No not really, I take all my pictures in my bathroom in front of the white furniture ;) You might have seen a grey background on some of my swatch-photos - I used my sweatpants for those pictures :P
2. How often do you give yourself a manicure ?
Every 1 or 2 days :)
3. Do you share or talk about your blog with people in your life/in public to people ?
Sometimes I do, but mostly with my friends and family, but my mom is the one who shares my blog with everyone :D
4. What was the first blog you started reading - did you realize how many nail bloggers there were ?
I honestly don't remember, but I know I started getting into the blogging world through Youtube-videos :D I discovered that some of the Youtube-Gurus have blogs, and I then I saw how many there were! I was fascinated :)
5. How long have you been into nails ?
Mhm, I think it started at the beginning of 2010. So not very long ;)
6. What's your biggest tip for nail beginners - if you are one, what is the hardest problem you have that is most frustrating ?
Hm, well use base coat, even if you don't wear nail polish every day, because it strengthens the nails and gives them a healthy shine. And also - don't use your nails as tools! I know I did that a lot and I broke my nails very often! And you don't want that ;) What is very frustrating sometimes, is that I can't always capture the right color or the prettiness of the nail polish with my camera. And then after 40 pictures there still isn't a good one :P
7. Do you prefer long or short nails ?
Definitely long!
8. What's one nail polish you never get bored of wearing ?
Hm, I don't have a specific one, but I can wear silver or black polish for a month and not get bored with it :)
9. What brand of nail polish do you want to try but haven't gotten the chance to get a bottle or don't want to pay the money for ?
Nfu-Oh polishes!! My god they are so pretty :D But look here, if you don't already know them :D
10. How many bottles of nail polish do you have, do you think it's a crazy amount ?
With the ones I bought today: 270. I know it's crazy, but I try to convince myself that there are others who have much much more, so I'm not the only one :D
11. Do you like the nail art with all the rhinestones, pearls and acrylic pieces covering your nails ?
I love rhinestones and stickers, but I think acrylic pieces are too much :) The reason I don't wear them that often is because I'm afraid they fall right off my nails :D

Today´s Swatch: Flormar U33

Hello, my dear readers!

I just wanna say thank you, to all of you, for sticking with me although I'm not posting very much these days! :)

Today I got a beautiful polish for you: Flormar U33. In the bottle it's a gorgeous turquoise-purple-pinkish duochrome, but look for yourself:

Why, oh why, dear nail polish god, do you make polishes that are duochrome in the bottle but not on the nails? Is this just a trick to make us buy the polishes?

Oh well, it works :P

I used 2 coats and this is how it looks on the nails:

Most of the time it looks blue, leaning towards turquoise and just sometimes you can see a little bit of purple around the edges.

Ok, the purple doesn't show on the pictures at all, but believe me, there is a little bit showing in real life ;) It's still a really gorgeous polish, but I would have loved it even more, if the duochrome would have transfered from the bottle onto the nails. :P

Do you have polishes like this, that are gorgeous in the bottle,

but not the same on the nails ?

Floral French Design

Hello my lovely readers!

How are you all? I really miss blogging regularly, but only 2 more weeks left and I'm exam-free and I will have more time :P

So for today I asked my followers on facebook what design I could do, and Steffi from Me, Myself and Nail Polish said flowers. I wanted to try this french flower design from Copy That, Copy Cat for quite a while and I thought now would be the perfect time ;) Since she did a tutorial on this one, it was quite easy recreating it, and here it is:

I am very very pleased with the outcome, although doing the flower was harder than it looked on her video :D That's why I did all nails on my left hand and only an accent finger on my right hand :P

It looks so pretty and feminine and I'm not used to wear french manicures, but I have to say I like this one :)

P2 - Perfectly (base)

O.P.I - Suzi & the Lifeguard (rosé)

Essence - Ahoy! (white)

Bourjois - 21 (red)

Safari (light green)

Catrice - Run Forest Run! (dark green)

Essence - Waking Up In Vegas . . . or awesomeness in a bottle :)

Sometimes I just don't get me :)) I wanted this polish sooo bad and I didn't even wore it once since I got it back in December. I don't know why, because it's AWESOME!

Attention!

Picture Spam ahead :P

This is one coat of Essence Waking Up in Vegas over 1 coat of Avon Wicked. Wicked is actually a very dark red polish with shimmer, which inspired me to top it of with the flakies. :)

The Essence flakies are very dense and I had to be careful to apply just a thin coat, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to see the polish underneath :) I also had to add a little bit of thinner to it, because it was a bit thick.

The following pictures show you the color change from green to red:

Wow!! I have no words for this :P Most of the time the flakies look like on the picture above, mostly red and orange but in daylight they look amazing! Look:

The last picture kinda reminds me of Jamaica, cause of the red, yellow and green :D

This is my very first flakie polish and I'm glad I stressed out my mom to get me this beauty. I think she went to every store in the city to find it and eventually she did. Thank you so much mom!! :))

Today's Swatch in the Snow: Essence - Metal Battle

It finally snowed here! It was just like in a fairytale this morning :) So I thought I'd do some nail photos in the snow ;)

Why is my blog called Red Hair and Black Nail Polish? Because it's my go to color if I don't know what to put on my nails :P Since I don't have time to paint my nails that often anyways these days and my creativity seems to be on vacation, I thought I'd use this lovely polish: Essence Metal Battle.

This is 2 coats with TC and it's a beautiful black polish with very subtle blue and grey shimmer in it. Application was a dream, as always with Essence polishes ;)

What is your go to color, when you have no idea what to wear?

Today´s Swatches: Essence Vampire's Love LE

I finally made some time to do the swatches of the Vampire's Love Collection, that some of you wanted to see ;)

So let's get right to it :) Btw you really should click enlarge on all the pics to see the shimmer/flakes and color better ;)

All swatches are 2 coats of polish with no TC!

01 Gold Old Buffy

This one is a brown-golden polish with a hint of green. It also has golden shimmer and flakes. It is a beautiful color, but it's just not my type :P Maybe I'll swap it :)

02 Into The Dark

This one really surprised me :) When I saw it in the bottle it didn't really convince me, but once I had it on my nails....wow! I really love this color! Its a blue-grey color with silver shimmer. Reminds me a little bit of jeans :D

03 True Love, this one I already swatched ;)

04 The Dawn Is Broken

Another special and really beautiful polish! It's grey with black and silver glitter. It's really small glitter, but it's too big to call it shimmer. It doesn't looks good at all with my skin-tone, but I love it and I'll wear it nonetheless :)

05 Hunt Me If You Can

Another favorite of this collection :) It's a black polish with silver shimmer and flakes. I know most of you think of the beautiful big duochrome flakies when you hear that, but I just call them flakes because they're bigger than glitter and with an irregular size and shape.

So how do you like this Collection? I love them all, except Gold Old Buffy, but all in all Essence did a great job on this LE!

Sooo, I will get back to studying now :P

Today´s Swatch: Essence - True Love

Hello everybody!

Sorry for not posting but I have a ton of presentations, tests and exams now and it's hard to find time to blog :) Around February 10 I will be done with all of this and I will have time again ;) So til then I will post every now and then when I have time :)

I got the Essence Vampire's Love LE from my mom back in November and I wanted to show you my favorite polish of this collection :)

Here they are all together (from left to right):

Hunt Me If You Can, The Dawn Is Broken, True Love, Gold Old Buffy and Into The Dark

My absolute favorite is........True Love :D Why? Well, because it's purple and it's a gorgeous shimmer polish.

It's not really purple it's more....purple with pink shimmer and it's absolutely stunning! But I'll let the pictures speak for themselves ;)

I planned to post my new years eve mani yesterday, but I was very busy, so here it is today on the first day of the year :D

I was inspired by a mani I saw once on OMG Polish' Em! and I just love it!! Now I finally had the time to do it :D Initially I wanted to use other colors, but this ones matched my outfit better ... this way it also comes even closer to the inspiration picture :P

I used: Avon - Gunmetal (as a base), Essence - Can't cheat on me (sponged over Avon), Essence Glitter Topper - Hello Holo and Art de Lautrec in Black (dots)

Blurry picture to show you the pretty holo glitter! :D As always it's so much better in real life :P

Now some of you may say.."wait a minute! I now that dotted image!" Yes you do :D It's from the Konad image plate M60. Since I don't own it I had to use a dotting tool...but let's be honest, even if I'd own it I wouldn't be able to stamp a clear image :)))

I love it so much that I don't want to take it off :D

Hello ladies,

My name is Laura and I am so happy that Theodora invited me to guest post on her amazing and inspirational blog :-)

Today I'd like to show you a manicure I created using two techniques, sponging (which is relatively new to me) and stamping:

My first step was to paint my nails with two coats of E.L.F's Pearl Polish.

I then used a sponge to dab on two layers of a lilac polish (shade 123 by Wibo) from around the middle of each nail to the tip.

My next step was to stamp animal stripes across each of my nails using a silver Miss Sporty polish and Mash image plate m57.

Initially, I could hardly see the silver stripes, but once I'd finished my manicure, I could see the silver stripes did add a bit of shimmer to my nails.

As the animal stripes were extremely subtle, I then decided to stamp another full image on my nails, this time using a darker purple polish by Kiko (no332) and a floral image, one of my favourites, from Mash plate m64.

I was so happy with the final result of this manicure as I loved how the white and lilac polishes blended together and matched the darker purple polish so well. It made me think I had princess nails :-)

Christmas Presents + Secret Santa Gift!! :D

Hello lovelies!

How was your Christmas? Was Santa good to you ? :D I had a great time with my family and it was really fun opening the presents under the Christmas Tree. We didn't do that since I don't know when, cause my family is always so excited about the presents that we get them 2 weeks before Christmas :)))

So it was really nice getting the presents on Christmas for a change :P

Those are not all my presents, just to be clear :P And I will only show you the beauty/fashion related stuff I got, cause that's the things that belong on my blog :P

I got this cute little hat with scarf and gloves and I just love it! The colors are so fun and the pattern is perfect for winter ;) I thought about doing a matching manicure but I don't think I will have time for it..but maybe next year :D I also got a dress with leopard pattern, but I forgot to take a pic of it :P

I was soooo excited about the second gift: the perfume from Laura Biagiotti - Mistero di Roma. It's my absolute favorite perfume and I wanted it for ages! Yeeeeey :D The other perfume is called "Little white Dress" from Avon I think :)

And I got some money too and I bought me .... guess what! Polishes :D ..and a ton of jewelry :)) Would you be interested in a jewelry haul ?

I actually bought the polishes a few days before Christmas, cause I got the money a bit early :)

I got O.P.I - Fresh Frog of Bel Air (I used it for my Elf manicure) and O.P.I Nail Envy...finally! I wanted to try this out for some time now, I just hope it helps ;)

If you have it, what are you thoughts on it?

You may now I'm in this facebook group, called Polishaholics Anonymous, and Krissi organized a Secret Santa, were we sent a package to someone with our gift and we received one back from someone unknown (our Secret Santa :P). It was really fun! I mailed my package to Ashley and got one from Kristal ~~(unfortunately I don't know her blog :( )~~

I got my very first China Glaze polishes from her! I was literally bouncing when I opened the package :D

What I was really happy about too, was the Burt's Bees - Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream, this cream is a dream!! All in all I was sooo happy about my gift, thanks again Kristal!! :)

Christmas Challenge Day 24 - Favorite Manicure

The last challenge .. I can't believe it's over. I had really fun doing all this designs, although sometimes it was hard doing Nail Art everyday :P I'm so glad I joined this challenge, because I improved my Nail Art skills and I found some nice ladies, who also did this cool Christmas Challenge :) It was really worth it!

Today we had to recreate our favorite manicure from all the 23 themes and I didn't have to think a lot about it: I chose Snowflakes ;) But I didn't do the same version as last time, instead I chose the design that Copy That, Copy Cat did some while ago :)

I chose China Glaze - Ruby Pumps as a base instead of a blue one, cause it's more Christmassy that way :P
For the tips I used: S-he 471 (silver), Farmasi 79 (little silver glitter) and Essence - Julia (big glitter).

It was a really hectic day today, so I didn't had the time to do all nails with snowflakes, but I really like how that looks too :)
I'm so glad I can keep this design on my nails for as long as I want to, cause I don't have to do another challenge tomorrow :P I will keep it on, til it chips and I hope that won't be too soon :D

Christmas Challenge Day 21 - Reindeer / Rudolph

Christmas Challenge Day 20 - Sleigh/Sled

Day 20 already! Only 4 more days and Santa brings us presents ;)

For today I had a great idea, but it was really hard to paint it on the nails :P

I know... the Reindeer on my index looks like a crazy rabbit and the on on my middle finger looks like a dog with really big ears =)))) But I like the one on my ring finger ;) And since I couldn't paint a whole Reindeer on my little finger I decided to paint a roof with a chimney and smoke. Aaaaand on my thumb I did the sleigh and Santa, here is a close up:

I had no idea what to paint on my nails for this theme ... and I don't like what I did in the end with them either. :P Not my favorite theme, that's for sure..I mean, come on! Who puts socks on their nails ?!

But I rediscovered one of my favorite red polishes: P2 - Charismatic. I used it for the Santa hats as well, you'll see that later ;)

I used a green background, representing the tree and silver/red tinsel, since my Christmas Tree this year is decorated with this colors ;)

I should have added some glitter to it :P Well, too late ;) I used Aden - 86 , P2 - Glamour and P2 - Charismatic.
And here is my Christmas Tree, I love it! It looks so good and sparkly in real life, but the camera won't show it.....damn you! :P

I got the inspiration for this bow from Copy That, Copy Cat, but don't ask me which post it was, cause I have no idea :D I just saved the image in my inspiration folder some time ago :)

I used China Glaze - Dorothy Who?, some white and ~~black polish~~ (I actually used a Nail Art Pen^^) and a thin Nail Art Brush :)

Christmas Challenge Day 13 + Day 14 - Christmas Tree with Ornaments :)

I'm sorry, that I missed one day, but I had so much to do yesterday for the university. Only 2 more days and it's over and then...vacation! :D Yes ;)

Luckily for me the theme's for these 2 days are easy to combine: Christmas Tree and Ornaments ;)

And here are my nails:

I love the Christmas tree! The angel ornament didn't turn out like I wanted to, but it's alright :) I used Aden 86 (as a base and for the tree) and on the ring finger I used Avon - Red Velvet as a base. If you wanna know any of the other colors I used, feel free to ask ;)

The green polish bubbled like crazy on my index finger.. idk why, it never happened before with this one. Oh well, it had a bad day :D

Hello to my old and new followers!

Since my test was today (it went ok :D), I didn't had the time and energy to do today's theme on all my nails .. I didn't even change the base color :D So here is a cute accent nail:

I like it, especially the little bow... I love cute bows :D

I used S-he 320 as a base and Catrice - Run Forest Run for the wreath. I topped it with a green Golden Rose glitter and little shimmery dots (P2 - Divine). For the bow I used Sally Hansen - Brick Wall.

It's Friday!! Finally :D I still have a test on Sunday (yes, you heard right, on SUNDAY!) but still ;)

Today's theme was a bit difficult...why? Because it's rather vague. I asked my readers what I could do with red and green polish and one of them said: a mistletoe! Thank you for that idea, FrugallyMe ! :)

I kept it simple, so here is my Red & Green Mani:

First off I wanna thank you for all the support and all the nice comments you leave me, they just make my day :)

With that said, let's move on to today's challenge: Candy Canes !

I used China Glaze Ruby Pumps as a base and Nail Collection Matte in White for the Candy Canes. Ruby Pumps is just beautiful! I think it's one of my all time favorite polishes :) Although my pics don't show the whole beauty of this color.

Short post today :P Here are my Icicles:

I used Chicogo - Fuel as a base, Essence - White Hype for the icicles and Essence - Silver Surfer for the accents. I also mixed a little white and blue polish to get a light blue color for the accents too.

I must say, that I don't like this design very much and that's why I took it off right away :P But tomorrows theme is "Snowman"! How cute :D Can't wait to do that! ;)

It snowed! Last night when I went to bed, I looked for a second out the window and couldn't believe it: it all was white! I love it :D Well, today's theme is perfect for this weather: Snowflakes! And here is my mani:

I think I associate snow with night. :D I just love when it snows at night and everything is quiet and peaceful, and you can see the snowflakes under the streetlights ...beautiful! ♥ I think it's my favorite time of the year :)

That's why I used a black background and silver Snowflakes :) After applying Essence - Fabuless as a base, I used 1 coat of Farmasi 79, a silver glitter, to make it a bit shinny, and then I draw the Snowflakes with the Essence Tip Painter - Silver Surfer. I added some dots with the same silver, representing the Snowflakes that are more far away :P

I hope you like it! Because I really love this manicure :P

Christmas Challenge Day 1 - Snowfall

It's December the 1st, that means the Challenge begins! :D As the title says, the theme for today is Snowfall. I'll try to keep it short, cause today is the Great Union Day, the national holiday in Romania and I will spend it with some friends. :)
So here is the base for my manicure:

I created a gradient with: Essence - I'm a Marine Girl (dark blue), Sensique - Lakier Sky Blue and P2 - Divine. I used a white base (Essence - Ahoy!) to make the colors pop more ;) As much as I love gradients, they never turn out great on my nails. The colors didn't blend that well together, and the cleaning up afterwards was a mess, but oh well, it still looks pretty. :) I tried to picture the dark night sky, the fog and the snow-covered ground. All the colors I used are shimmers and it looks beautiful in real life, but it doesn't show on the pictures... maybe a little bit on the second picture? :P

And for the falling snow I just used the same white, that I used as a base and added random sized dots all over the nails.

It does look like snow, doesn't it ? :D

I can't wait to see all the other designs of these lovely ladies that joined the Challenge:

Kaki, Steffi, Salpi, Shannara, Kirshten and of course paint that nail, who started all this :D

(These are just the ones I know, I'm sure there are a lot of other bloggers that joined :P)

Today's Swatch: Avon - Grey Cement + Avon Haul

Hey there!
Oh gosh, I'm so excited about tomorrow!! If your new here, or maybe just missed it: this is what I'm so excited about :D Can't wait to start and see all the other Nail Designs, from the ones who participate ;)

So, today I am showing you another gorgeous polish from Avon! I'm falling in love with this polish brand ;) It's Grey Cement, a matte polish, which is the perfect grey! Not to dark and not to light...just gorgeous!

The application was a bit hard at first, because this polish dries within seconds! So you have to be fast...and I mean fast as lightning, no kidding :) Even if you manage to apply it evenly, you'll still see some brush strokes (1st pic), but they're not that noticeable in real life. I used 2 coats.

All in all I love how matte it is, because some other matte polishes I own, have more like a satin finish. That's why I ordered the other 2 matte polishes, that I don't already have, from Avon, so I have them all. They're just so cool :D
And here are the ones I ordered this month:

From left to right:

Ruby Slippers, Violetta Sparkle (swatch here), Gunmetal, Blue Shock

Inky Blue, Grey Cement, Red Velvet

I really like the names of the polishes, because they describe them perfectly ;) But why couldn't Avon manage to put them on the bottles as well? I had to cut out the names from the boxes they came in and tape it on the cap :P

Nail Art Monday Nr.11 - Fierce Accent

Heeey!
I took a little pause from blogging, cause I had a lot of going an with uni and stuff (I had 3 tests only last week) but now it's going to be more relaxed, so I can post regularly again :) Starting Thursday I will post a Christmas Nail Art everyday! That will be fun :D
So today I was swatching some colors, and one of them was Avon - Violetta Sparkle. This is a dark purple polish with fine golden glitter in it. The application was tricky at first, I had to use 3 coats on the first nail, cause I couldn't apply it evenly. As I was moving on to the other nails I got the hang of it and I had to use only 2 coats. So application is fine, if you're careful. When I ordered this polish I thought it would be a lighter purple with silvery glitter, judging by the photo in the catalog. So I was a little bit disappointed, but the polish is still pretty :)

It was really hard to capture the real color and the glitter. If you enlarge the photos you can get an idea of how it looks.

The purple is a little lighter in real life.

I thought about pimping it a bit, so I added P2 Crackle TC - Golden Rush. I realized something funny today ... I always start painting my ring finger and then go on and paint the other ones. :))) So this accent nail happened by accident and since today's theme at PAA was "Fierce Accent Nail" ...well, perfect! :D

I know a reader requested the swatch of this particular polish, so I hope she's happy with it! =)

WARNING!!! It is official...My old camera HATES gold polishes. I can't wait to get my new camera back from the shop (broken LCD screen)

Today's post is all about golds! I don't know what my deal was, but I was in the mood to play with gold nail polishes. The photo above shows ONE coat of Color Club Gingerbread Man with no top coat. This is a lovely gold foil polish. I tried stamping with it, but I am undecided on whether it is a good stamping polish or not... as of now, I say no.

The photo below shows one coat of Color Club Gingerbread Man and one coat of Tip Toe (by Old Navy) Gold Dust with one coat of top coat. These photos do not do it justice. This was the perfect amount of bling. It was so gorgeous.

On to the next gold nail polish.... I recently ordered five Ozotic polishes, and one of them was Ozotic 604. The picture below shows two coats of Ozotic 604 with no top coat. Again, my old camera does not do this polish any favors. This polish is the PERFECT gold. It does have a slight holo effect, but my camera did not pick that up. If you do not have this on your wishlist, please add it! In person, it looks like a light gold polish with white/silver non-sparkly flakes with a slight holo effect. It is quite amazing--very unique. I wish I had my good camera to capture that. Please do a google image search!

Ugh, I hate the next two blurry photos, but this is such a great mani. I stamped on the print with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Bronze Ablaze and Bundle Monster stamping plate BM 21. The photo below shows one coat of top coat. (P.S. I stamped BM 21 twice over top of each other to make the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Bronze Ablaze show better. one stamp was not dark enough)

I added something extra with Kleancolor White and Bundle Monster stamping plate BM01

When I was asked to guest post I thought I'd show a cute and simple to do mani which reflects the coming of winter. Here's what I came up with:

This hounds tooth pattern reminds me of thick winter coats we see everywhere in shops during this season. The colours are dark and stormy, just like the winter months =)
To create this design I painted my nails in Accessorize's Idol, a deep blue/black shimmer and then I stamped over it in MEMEME's Pewter using the hounds tooth design from Konad.

I was so flattered when Theodora asked me to guest post on her blog since I am always admiring her manicures and nail art. She makes things like random stripes and dots look gorgeous and at the same time effortless. I couldn't help but be inspired to put a little twist on those stripes. OK, so it was more of a curl than a twist, but I think you get the point. The dots also got a little bling in the form of glitter.
Plus, with this being my very first guest post ever, I had to roll out the red carpet. More precisely, Red Carpet from Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear line. A gorgeous red polish with bright red glitter. I then added random curls using black acrylic paint and accented them with glitter from Wet 'n Wild Party of Five Glitters...

Today's Swatch: Sensique 137

Hey everybody!

Today I´m showing you another polish from the giveaway: Sensique 137. I really don´t know what color this is :))) Plum? Burgundy? I have no idea xD Please tell me! :D Either way, it´s a beautiful one ;) The application was really great, that´s what I love about this Sensique polishes. I used 2 coats, no TC and it´s so glossy! But see for yourself:

The color is the most accurate on the second picture :) After a few hours of wearing this, I thought I spice it up a bit with some glitter! And I got the perfect candidate for it: Essence - Time for Romance. It´s basically the same color, but with some awesome glitter :) Here´s a bottle shot, to show you the great glitter this cute little bottle contains (click to enlarge)

I applied 1 coat over the old manicure and here is the result:

I ♥ this combination! It sparkles so much more in real life :)

Today´s Swatch: Safari - Green

Hello, my lovelies ! :)
Since I´m not doing anything special with my nails, because they´re really short right now, I thought I show you some swatches I have done some while ago.
The one I´m showing you today, is one of the polishes I won in a giveaway from Paulina. :D It´s from Safari and since it doesn´t have a number or name, I just called it "Green" .. yeah I know, very resourceful :D

This is 2 coats without TC. It´s a beautiful green creme, it appllies very smooth and I love how it looks with my skintone. ;)

I really like this color, it reminds me of spring ♥ I searched for a green like this for a while now, but they were either to bright or to shimmery or to dark or whatever...this one is so...soft :P I don´t know how to describe it otherwise :)

A painful break :(

Hey everybody!
It happens to all of us, and now it´s my turn again :P A nail of mine broke some while ago and I tried to patch it up but it didn´t work out that well, so I had to cut it down, now that it grew out a little bit. It hurts like hell when I type on my keyboard, because it´s so damn short. :( Of course I filed down all of my nails to match my silly ring finger ^^

I don´t know what I did exactly to brake it off completely, but that´s how it looked in the end ... ouch! :/
What do I do when I have my nails very short? I try to make them as invisible as possible :D I can´t stand to have such short nails, that´s why I don´t want to draw attention to them :P I always paint them nude, and if feel like it, I add some glitter, but that´s it. I used: P2 - Perfectly and Essence - Hello Holo.

P2 - Perfectly really is the perfect nude polish! With the glitter it looks kinda pretty, so if someone does notice my nails, at least the glitter distracts from the broken nail. :P
What do you guys do, if you have to cut down your nails? Not wear polish at all, or does it not bother you? :)

Today´s Swatch: Avon - Sequined Turquoise + Mini Haul

Hello, my lovelies! :)
Today I got a little haul for you and a beautiful swatch :) Let´s start with the polishes I´ve bought the last week:

Finally 2 more beautiful O.P.I´s in my collection :) Sephora opened a shop here in my city and they have some awesome stuff, but sadly they don´t have that much nail polish ...maybe it´ll change :) I got: O.P.I - Suzi & the Lifeguard (rosé) and Lincoln Park at Midnight, a beautiful dark purple. What I´m also excited about, is the fact that one of my colleagues works with AVON and I can buy some awesome polishes from there :) I got Sequined Turquoise to test out their polishes, and it´s beautiful!

These 3 beauties I got mailed by my mom, along with some other cool things and some back-up bottles of my favorite Essence polishes :) It´s Essence - Blue Addicted , Sally Hansen - Brick Wall (it was only 50cents !) and Essence Remix your Style - Love TC.
Okey, and now here is Avon Sequined Turquoise, my new favorite polish! (Catrice - Forget-me-not, you´re now on the second place! :D)

I won´t talk to much about it, because there are no words for this beauty!

Application = great !

Coats = 2 (no TC)

Nail Art Monday Nr.10 - Hearts ♥

Hello, my dear readers!
There are now 203 of you! I can´t believe it :D I´m doing this since April and I never would have thought I´d have so many readers by now ... wow :) I thank each and every one of you, for reading my posts, sharing them, comment on them :) I love what I do and I love it even more, when I see that other people appreciate it ;)

This week on PAA, the theme was "hearts", and there couldn´t have been a better theme to show my readers some love :)

This was inspired by a technique I saw once on My Simple Little Pleasures, but I don´t know which post it was. It´s very easy and quick to do, but the effect is awesome. :)

I used: Essence - Back to the 50´s (red) and Nail Collection Matte Nr. 4 (white). The light was not the best today, otherwise I would have done a swatch

of the red polish :)

Nail Art Tutorial: Random Dots & Stripes

Hello everybody!
It´s Saturday! How is your weekend so far? :) I have a new nail art tutorial for you guys! :DLet´s start !

Step 1 : After applying your base color (I chose black and silver to have a better contrast), take a small brush and start painting random stripes. You can start at the base, or at the tip ... it´s totally up to you :)

Step 2 : Since it´s random, the lines can be straight, round or wavy. I like to alternate the stripes a little bit :)

Step 3 : Basically you can paint as many stripes as you wish, but keep in mind, there has to be some space left for your dots! :)

Step 4: After you´ve finished your stripes place some dots along them. Alternate smaller and bigger dots to make it look more random :)

And that´s it! Pretty simple right ? It´s a great design for beginners, because you can do what you want...just go crazy with your dots and stripes :D

If you wanna make it look more fun, you can use more colors for the stripes/dots. I did my nails both ways, so you can see how it looks.

I could use that as a full manicure as well :D

I love this Nail Art, because you can´t do anything wrong with it ;)

Reader´s Choice: P2 - Artful

Hello everybody!
This time, the number was chosen by Jamie and it´s 177! Thank you ;) It´s P2 - Artful. I adore this color, but the application kinda sucks. It´s sheer, it´s stringy, even though I used nail polish thinner and it doesn´t dry. I don´t know if it´s just mine, but I don´t like it. Too bad, because the color is awesome! Look ! :)

I took these pictures, while I was in Greece some weeks ago and I didn´t wanted to take new pictures of it, so here they are!

You can see the VNL and the sheerness at the base of the nail. This is 2 coats, and you would need 3 to 4 coats to make it opaque, but then it takes forever to dry :/
I am not saying P2 polishes are bad in general, but this one is. :(
Tell me, do you own this polish ? If so, do you have the same problems with it ? I would love to know :)

Nail Art Monday Nr.9 - Halloween !

Hey everybody!
This post was supposed to be scheduled yesterday, but obviously I did something wrong xD So I´ll post this weeks Nail Art Monday, today :P
The theme was, oh well, Halloween of course !! :D
You probably have seen this kinda manicure on every blog out there and even I did it last week, but I wanted to try it again :P

It was inspired by Acetone and Old Lacquer,because I loved her idea to do the "blood" on a neutral colored polish.

I used: P2 - Perfectly as a base, Sally Hansen - Brick Wall (light red) and Catrice -The Devil wears Red. Yeey, my first Sally Hansen polish..I love it :D More on that tomorrow ;)

Yesterday as I was walking home, I saw these 2 cute little cats cuddling each other :) How sweet are they?

Nail Art Tutorial: Butterfly Wings

Heeey!
How are you all doing? I´m a little late with the tutorial, but all of my plans for the day were messed up by one package... I will tell you about that another time ;)
Let´s get started!

Step 1 : After applying your base coat and your base color of your choice, draw a rounded line on the right or the left side near your cuticles. Draw another line like that, but this time near the tip of the nail. The more further away the line is from the other one, the longer are your "wings".

Step 2 : With the second set of stripes we are connecting those two lines we draw before and defining the wing a little bit more :) I like to do 3 stripes to have 4 colored parts, but you can do more or less :)

Step 3 : Now the end of those colored parts (I will name them petals now :D) are to cornered, so we have to round them. I start from one side of the petal and draw a round line to the center of it and then do the same thing on the other side. I hope I described it good enough :P

Step 4 : Fill in the tip of the nail with the same color you used for the lines.
Basically you´re done with the hard part ;) Now comes the fun! ;)

Step 5 : Dots !! I just love them :D Start the first line of dots between the petals. Use a white polish for this to make a really good contrast :)

Step 6 : Do the second line of dots between the other dots, I don´t know how to describe it, but I think you get the idea from the photo. :)

Step 7 : Just place the dots til the end of your nail. You could do more or less dots, that´s up to you! :)

Step 8 : Finish it off with a TC and you are done !

This design takes some time, but it´s totally worth it ! You can experiment with some color combinations, maybe a gradient under the black polish .. just be creative :)

Hello my dear readers! :)

The awesome polish I will show you in a second, was chosen on Tuesday by an Anonymous reader, who chose number 211 :) Thanks for that, whoever you are :D Number 211 is S-he 195, a very sheer red glitter polish, which reminds me of Christmas :P I knew immediately what I would do with that polish, and here it is:

BLOOD! :D Oke I know its Glitter-Blood, but still :P It´s perfect for Halloween ;)

I used: Art de Lautrec 21 (black), P2 - Open your Heart and S-he 195.

As I mentioned before, S-he 195 is very sheer, so I always use it as a glitter topper over a red polish.

In this second picture the red is color accurate :) There is so much glitter going on in real life, but I couldn´t capture it in the photo :(

Wanna know something funny? :D After I finished this manicure last night, I read some some new blog posts and I came across this manicure from Anutka. She did the same dripping manicure :D Cool coincidence, right? :P Make sure to visit her blog ;)

Butterfly Wings

Hello, my lovely readers!
This post is scheduled, because I am at the uni all day and I don´t get a chance to post it otherwise :)
I wanna show you the manicure a wore for 5 days last week ! That´s a new record for me I think :D I didn´t have time to change it, but I also loved it so much, that I didn´t want to :P The other thing is ... it didn´t chip! After 5 days there was a little tip wear, but it wasn´t that visible.
Let me show you this beauty:

I used: Flormar U17, Essence Fatal, Essence White Hype.

I know some of you wanted a tutorial on this one, and I´ll post it this Saturday ;)

And here is a pic of both hands, just because some people don´t believe I paint the designs on both of them :P

Nail Art Tutorial: Spider Web

Good evening everybody! :)

How was your weekend? I hope a little bit more spectacular than mine :P I learned the past few days for my upcoming test and now I found the time to post my weekend tutorial for you ;)

Btw: I now have a facebook-page! So if you´re on facebook, go ahead and like it! :D And I wanna ask you guys, whether you know, how to put the facebook box on my blog´s sidebar. I tried the HTML-Code, but it didn´t work :( So if you know how it works, just write me an email ;)

So, this time we have the Spider Web! Since Halloween is coming up, I thought I do some Nail Art for it :) It´s really easy and fast, and here it goes:

Step 1 : After applying you base color, you take a small brush and choose another color for the spider web. The colors should have a good contrast :) Basically you just have to paint some straight lines, that all start at the same point. I chose the right side by my cuticles as the "starting point".

Step 2 : It should look like this after painting on your lines. You can do more lines, for a denser spider web, or less, for a big spider web. I chose 4... I think it´s just the perfect amount of lines :)

Step 3 : Now we have to draw on the other lines, to make it look like a web. You could do some round lines, from one side of the nail to the other one (and it´s a lot easier that way), or you could do the lines a little bit curved from one line to the other. Does that make sense ? :D It´s like you painting a little "u" between every line.

Step 4 : Finish it off with a TC to make it shinny and you´re done! You have a spider web on your nails! :D (I didn´t put a TC on cause I added something else :P)

Phheew, I sure said the word "line" a lot :D

I didn´t do the web on all of my nails, just on the thumb and the ring finger. Then I thought I could add a cute little spider to one of my nails and here is the end-result:

I also added some glitter over the spider-web, cause I loooove glitter! :) But this step is totally optional ;)

I used: P2 - Dramatic Black (base on thumb and ring finger), S-he 471 (silver), Farmasi - 79 (silver glitter) and Essence - Fatal for the Spider.

I am in love with this cute spider and his web!

Reader´s Choice: Essence - Sundancer with a Gradient

TGIF ! Oh my god, I thought this weekend will never come :P Well, this was a looong week for me, that´s why I didn´t manage to show you the "Readers´s Choice - post" until now :)
So, on Tuesday the chosen number was 55 ! And it was chosen by Taya. Thank you! :) The polish behind this number is Essence - Sundancer, a beautiful yellow polish, that I already swatched -->here<--
Now I couldn´t leave it alone so I tried something I didn´t do before: a gradient ! :D But not a sponged one, no! I achieved this gradient, by painting the colors I wanted on the nails and quickly painting over them with a clear top coat. You know how sometimes the TC you put over your nail art design, smudges the colors, if they´re not dry enough ? Well I did that on purpose :P And here is the result:

All polishes are from Essence: Sundancer, Get the Fever (orange) and Love of Pink .

I just love this color combination! <3

Hey everybody!
I think you all know by now, that I love animal prints .. I can´t help it :P So here´s another manicure with leopard design :

I applied my base color, taped it off, added some metallic black and finished it by adding the leopard design. I used: Essence - White Hype (base), S-he 471 (silver), Essence - Fatal (leopard outlines) and Essence - Metal Battle.

Simple but eye-catching :P Some people actually asked to see my nails, so they could take a closer look :D

Also ... it´s Tuesday! Yep, that´s right, you have the chance to tell me a number between 1 and 226, and decide which polish I wear tomorrow! :) Can´t wait to see, what it will be ;)

Hey !!
Today I got a great surprise :D You know the giveaway from Paulina, I told you about? Well, I won those awesome polishes ;) Yeeey! :P Paulina also included 2 very nice postcards - btw you have a really cool handwriting :D I once commented on her blog that I like that one polish so much, and she included it in my package, because she sent it a little bit late. You didn´t had to do that but I was really, really surprised and happy about it :D Thank you so much for this great prize!
I was at the point, that I thought the package wouldn´t arrive anymore, and you know what ? The package arrived here almost one week ago, and my stupid post-man didn´t tell me! The post office sent me a notice, that they would send the package back if I don´t pick it up the next 2 days! Well, thanks for that! -.-

They also opened the package - it could have been explosive nail polish, who knows right? :D

Nail Art Tutorial: Argyle Print

Hey, my dear readers!

Hope you are having a great weekend so far ;) Mine isn´t that good, cause I´m sick and I sit in bed all day, but that means I can do a little more for my blog ;) So here is another tutorial for you guys and it´s the Argyle print I showed you once on my Nail Art wheels :) Let´s start!

Step 1 : After applying your base coat and your base color, start off by painting diagonal lines all over your nail. The space between the lines will determinate the size of the argyle print, so paint more lines for a small print and fewer lines for a bigger print.

Step 2 : Now do the same thing from the other side ;) Little tip: If it´s hard to draw a continuous line, just start the line at the edge of your nail and draw it to the middle of the nail and then start from the opposite site and draw the line to the middle til they lines meet. Did that make any sense ? :P

Step 3 : Now that you have your net, you have to fill in some of the rhombs ( is that the correct word? I don´t trust google :D ) I did this with a small dotting tool, to make it a little easier. :) You already have a argyle print now! Let´s move on to decorate it a little bit more ;)

Step 4 : Now grab another color (preferable one that makes a contrast to the ones you used before) and draw some thin lines parallel to the ones you drew before. Hard to explain, but you get the idea from the picture ;)

Step 5 : Do the same thing from the other side :) You could stop here and have an cool argyle print or you could take one more step ;)

Step 6 : As I said, this one is optional, but I like it very much :D In every spot, where the thin lines meet, you can add some rhinestones in the same color as the lines. Doesn´t it look awesome? :D

It takes some time to achieve this design, that´s why I did just an accent nail with it :) So here is the end result:

Do you like it ? I really hope this tutorial was helpful to some of you guys! :) I really like doing this tutorials and enjoy it even more, when I know I helped someone achieve the looks they wanted :)

Reader´s Choice: Essence - Rock´n´Roll

Hello everybody! :)
I post this one day later than usual, cause yesterday I came home from the uni at 8 pm .. and I was exhausted :P
So! Sophie chose number 77 yesterday, and it´s Essence - Rock´n´Roll ! Thank you Sophie! This is one of my all time favorite polishes, because it´s just the perfect silver !

See what I mean ? Ah, I love it :D This is 2 coats, and application is usually good, but my bottle is almost empty and it was difficult to get the last drops of polish on the brush and onto the nails :P That´s why the polish made some bubbles, cause I brushed the polish over and over on the nail. I really had to little for a full manicure, but I made it ! I have it on now for two days, and there is no chipping so far :)

With flash - it looks like chrome :D

Essence discontinued this polish from their Multi Dimensions Line - why, WHY? How could you Essence ??

I was really sad when I saw that, but well, I have to search for another perfect silver now :P

And the last picture was taken out of boredom :D I really love how long my nails are right now and in combination with the silver - aaaw! :D

I love the metallic look!

Today´s Swatch: Farmasi 74

Hello! :)

How are you all today? Good? That´s nice...yes I´m talking to myself here :P Soooo, I have another swatch for you, that I did some while ago and it´s not another blue polish! :D It´s Farmasi, Nr. 74, a really pretty purple polish. In the sunlight you can see purple, pink and blue shimmer, it´s really beautiful! Application was good, but I needed 3 coats to make it opaque ... that´s the only thing I don´t like about it. The more coats, the more likely it is to chip very soon.

This picture isn´t the best, but there was no sun, when I took the pictures, so I experimented with the flashlight on my camera, to show you the shimmer! :)

The last picture is the most color accurate. Do you own any Farmasi polishes? I don´t even know where that brand comes from, so if you know, you can tell me in your comments ;)

And of course it´s time for you to tell me another number between 1 and 217 ! You can decide what polish I wear tomorrow ;) Thanks for that! :)

Hello my dear readers!
How was your weekend? :) I don´t even know where the time went :P I didn´t even manage to do a tutorial for you :( Next Saturday I´ll do one again, I promise! Well, let´s move on to the nails! While I was doing some stuff around the house, I put my TV on UTV (a romanian music video channel) to listen to some music. The minute I heard "Rain over me" by Pitbull and Marc Anthony, I ran to the TV to turn up the volume :D I love that song and the music video is not that bad either ;) Here is a link to the youtube-clip! One of the girls had some really cool nails, that I had to try immediately. I took a screen shot, but the quality isn´t that great:

So obviously she wears some blue crackle polish :P As a base she has neon pink on all of her nails, except the middle finger, which has a neon green base. I would never have thought of this color combination , but I like it very much !

So, here are my inspired nails:

I used: Moyra - 64 1B1 (neon pink), Flormar - 50 (green) and Flormar - G01 (blue crackle). The blue crackle has a matte finish, just like every other crackle I tried so far.

After putting on some TC. See the pretty shimmer in the blue ? :)

I like the end-result very, very much! What do you think ? :)

Reader´s Choice: Essence - The World´s Coolest

Hello everybody!
As promised, here is the a swatch of the polish, that was chosen by Laura, who has 3 blogs, so I don´t know which one to link here, that´s why I´ll link you to her profile ;) Thanks for choosing number 45! I think I never would have worn this polish (is that grammatically right?! - it sounds weird :D ), because it is sheer and it needs 3 coats to be opaque and it still could use one more coat. Anyway, it´s called "The World´s Coolest" from Essence´s Surfer Babe Limited Edition, and it´s a beautiful light blue. The application was a bit streaky but it was manageable.

The first pic is color accurate, but in the shadow it can look like in the second picture :) I just realized, that I wore blue/turquoise polishes for almost a week now. I have to put on some purple or red! :D
Well, that´s it, I have to get back to my first anatomy class now and I´m so excited, I love this subject! :D

Late Nail Art Monday (Nr.8) - Give me the Blues

Hello, my lovelies! :)
Monday was ages ago, I know, but I wanted to post this Nail Art anyways, cause I really like it ;) The theme this week was: Give me the Blues! Basically you had to do some Nail Art, only using blue polishes. I used Essence - Shocking Blue as a base, it applied very easy and I realized I never wore this color before, because I didn´t like the way it looks in the bottle. How wrong I was! :D I like it very much, it´s just a really nice and calm blue...I don´t know another way to describe it :P

Then I added some dots all over the tips of my nails and the polishes I used, are: Essence - The World´s Coolest (light blue), Essence - I´m a Marine Girl (dark blue) and P2 - Gigantic.

Another simple but cute manicure! What do you think ? Do you like blue polishes? :)

Today´s Swatch: Essence Twins - Bella & Edward

Hello, my lovelies ! :)
First off: I didn´t forgot the Nail Art Monday, I will post it later or maybe tomorrow, but yesterday was my first day at the uni and it was really stressful -.- That´s why I won´t be able to post as much as usual, but only til I figure out how to allot my free time :)
Let´s move on to the polish(es): It´s the Essence Twins, Bella & Edward! I know a lot of you guys love those polishes, and let´s be honest: they´re just A-MA-ZING!! :D Both, the base color (Bella) and the Glitter Topper (Edward), are very easy to apply, and like almost every Essence polish, the greenish turquoise base color has a glossy finish. I just let the pictures speak for themselves ;)

See the beautiful glitter ?! I couldn´t stop staring at them in the sunlight :D

The Glitter Topper has normal, round glitter and square glitter in it, and that´s what makes it so beautiful ;) The last picture is the most color accurate :)

Oh, I almost forgot! Today´s Tuesday ! Tell me a number between 1 and 217, and as always, the first comment with a number counts! :)

Nail Art Tutorial: Dots and Dots

Hello, my dear readers!
It´s Saturday and as usual, here is another tutorial for you :) I saw this design on youtube, so go and check out the video tutorial if you like ;) It´s very easy to do, so let´s get started!

Step 1: You will need a total of 3 color for this design, I used: Essence - You belong to me (base), Essence - White Hype and Essence - Trust in Fashion. After applying your base color, grab a small Nail Art brush and draw some lines with the other 2 colors. I can fit only 3 lines on my nail, but you can draw 4 lines if you want to :)

Step 2: Now grab a dotting tool and make some big dots along the lines. My white polish was a bit thick, so the dots aren´t that perfect and round as they should be :P While placing the dots, make sure to leave enough space between them, so that the dots on the other line can fit in the gaps :)

Step 3: We´re almost done! :) Just put some smaller dots inside the big ones, with the other color you used for the lines. Let it dry a bit and finish it off with a TC.

In the end it should look like this:

My mom came today, to stay for a few days, while I deal with some paperwork and stuff for the university and she brought me some cool stuff :D Of course she brought me some polishes and there were 3, I´m very excited to try - the new crackle polishes from P2 :D Such beautiful colors!

Aaand I got a Helmer ! Yeey! Finally I can put my nail stuff and my polishes all together :D And it´s so organized....ah, I love it :D

I didn´t fill it completely, so there is still room for more polishes ;) I really loved, how easy it was to assemble the whole thing. Good job, IKEA ;) I will get me 2 more HELMER´s to put all my other beauty stuff in it :)

As always, I asked you yesterday for a number, and the first comment was from Elizedge, and she chose number 17! On my list, that´s Catrice - Just married! Thank you! I really love this color and I´m so mad at Catrice, that they discontinued this shade and many others, just to replace it with other ones, under the same number and name. Come on! Couldn´t they at least take other names for the new polishes ?! Anyways, I swatched this color -->here<--. I wanted to add something to it, and I was very clueless, til I saw my dotting tool laying around on my desk :P So I added some silver dots, and I must say: I really like the combination of this colors! The silver polish I used is S-he 471.

Today´s Swatch: P2 - Soulful + New "Tattoo" + Tuesday´s Poll

Hey everybody!
How are you all doing? I hope good ;) I wanna show you my favorite brown polish today. It´s from P2 and it´s called Soulful. It´s the perfect brown creme, application is flawless and once you have it on your nails, it looks like chocolate ...yummy ;) I used 2 coats:

Indoors it looks very dark, almost black. I tried to catch the real color using the flashlight, so the second picture is the most color accurate.

I just love this glossy finish! The third picture shows you, how the polish would look in sunlight. Since there was no sun when I took the photos, I had to improvise with the flash and my bureau-lamp.

I also was very, very bored yesterday, that´s why I drew another "tattoo" on my left arm/hand. It was inspired by a Henna-design I saw on the internet.

I will looking for some Henna now, that way next time I´m bored and I draw a tattoo, it will last longer ;)

Nail Art Tutorial: Abstract Squares

Hello everybody!
Man, I´m bad at finding names for my designs :D Anyway, here is another tutorial for you guys, and it´s very simple ;) I started off with 2 coats of Flormar - 50, a really gorgeous metallic green. It´s so hard to catch the color in the photos, I think I took over 30 pics and not one was even near color accurate. So I just edited one of them, and here it is:

It´s beautiful! And the application was a dream :) I could have used just one coat to make it opaque, but I wanted to be sure ;) In the next pictures I didn´t edit the color, cause it was to time-consuming. Huge difference, isn´t it ?

First step: Take a small Nail Art Brush and a color of your choice and draw some lines and squares. Do different sizes, so it seems more random. Now let it dry a bit and in the meantime you can choose another color to work with :)

Clean your brush or take another one, and do the same thing you did before, with your second color. Overlap the lines you did before and draw new squares, it´s up to you how many. Now if you overlapped some lines more than once, you can take your first color again - here it´s the black - and paint over the white line, so that it seems a little bit 3D. I did this on my ring finger, at the tip, but it´s not very visible. Does any of this explanation make sense to you ? I hope so :P Once your done, let it dry for a minute and finish your manicure with a TC.

Reader´s Choice: Catrice - Lavender Breeze

Hello!
So, the first and only comment with a number was from Paulina, and she chose number 8! :P Counting down my list, that would be: Catrice - Lavender Breeze. Thanks Paulina :D First I wasn´t sure what to do with that color, so I swatched it and later on I added some Nail Art.

This is 1 coat, and I added this picture to show you how this polish really looks on the nails, cause with 2 coats it looks like any other polish :P I don´t know how to describe it, but every time I apply it, it´s like the paint you apply on your walls :D

And even with 2 coats it doesn´t look good :P This is a polish you just can´t wear on it´s own! It´s streaky and you have to be careful with the application :) Aaaand it´s called Lavender Breeze, but even with a lot of fantasy you can´t see a hint of lavender in this polish...it´s just white :)

I had to add some NA to it, but I had no idea what, so I just added some random stripes and dots, kinda like in this post: -->click here<-- That´s what I always do, when I have no idea what Nail Art to do on my nails :)

In my last post I showed you guys my NA wheels and I asked you to choose some designs, I should do a tutorial for. Step1: Paint your nail with a base color, I chose Essence - Ahoy to create a good contrast to my second color, P2 - Open your Heart. With this one you paint a curved line on the tip of your nail.

Step2: Take a small Nail Art brush and paint a thin line near the base of the nail, approximately parallel to the curved line on your tips. For this one, you can take a different color, than the one you used on your tips..it´s up to you ;)

Step 3: Again with a small brush, you first paint a curved line on the side of your nail, then a straight line, which is finished with a swirl. Gosh, it´s harder to explain than to do :D I hope you get the idea, from the pictures ;)

Step 4: Finally the fun part: dots! :) Take a dotting tool, and put some dots along the lines. If you did the tip and the other lines with only one color, you can do the dots in another color, just to mix it up a bit :) And you´re done! Not so hard, was it ? :)

Actually I like the result on my wheel much better :)) I think because the lines are thicker and I only used 2 colors. I put the 2 different results together, so you can see how it looks with 2 or 3 colors :)

And I also dyed my hair! Yey, no more weird colors on my head :D This picture is taken in sunlight, but my hair is actually a little bit darker :) For those who wonder what color that is, it´s Wellaton - Colorado Red 8/45

Hello everybody!
Yesterday I asked my readers what polish to wear today, and the first comment with a number was from Beauty on a College Budget. And she chose number 20. Thank you! ;) If you count down my stash list, the polish that comes up is: Catrice - I Sea You! I already swatched that polish -->here<-- :) Since I already swatched it, I didn´t want to wear just the plain polish, so I tried something that I wanted to do in a long time: a dripping manicure.

I had really fun creating this, and I´m sure I´ll be doing this again soon with other colors :D For the dripping effect I used Aden - 86c10 (I hate polishes without names ^^). Click to enlarge the photo to see that awesome shimmer in Aden!

The British Flag + Little Poll

Hello, my lovelies!
Today I wanted to do something simple but still eye-catching :) What do you do? Rhinestones! :D I had this idea in my mind for some time, but not with rhinestones actually...I changed that spontaneously ;) I really like the colors of the British flag, so here is the mani I did:

(sorry for not cleaning up ^^)

I used P2 - Gigantic as a base, 2 coats on each nail. This is a really great blue and very glossy. Application can be difficult, because it tends to be sheer if you don´t apply it evenly. The white polish is Essence - Ahoy (LE), my new favorite white ;) And then I added some red rhinestones on the white lines and voilá! I love it! I love rhinestones more and more :P

Aaaand here is my little poll:
From now on I wanna ask you guys on every Tuesday, what polish I should use the next day. The way we gonna do it, is that you name a number between 1 and 199 (that´s all my polishes) and then I count down my stash list :) I pick the first comment with a number. Why do I do this? I´m clueless sometimes which polish to choose and that way you can help me ;)

So it´s up to you! Which polish should I use? :D

I´m back with my Nail Art Monday Mani :) This weeks theme: Candy...mhmm yummy :D The first thing that came in to my mind was Lollipops! They´re so colorful and delicious, so I knew I had to paint them :)

Holiday Haul + Current Hair :)

Hello my lovelies!
So as most of you know, I was in Greece for 10 days and I had a really great time. Besides being lazy on the beach, I also did some shopping with my mum :D Let me tell you, that they have awesome clothes there and really awesome shoes, but not in my size :( Apparently Greeks have small feet ;) Most of the things you can buy there are imported from Italy and of course China, so I don´t know where else you can buy these. But I´m sure you could find similar pieces, if you search for them :)

I wanted such a hat for a long time and now I finally found some and the best thing about them, is the price : 2 and 6 €. That´s almost free :P And as you can tell I´m in love with animal prints, so I just had to get me those harem pants with zebra/leopard print and this cute little dress, which is now my absolute favorite :D

Since I couldn´t buy me shoes I found another thing I love: bags ;) The picture isn´t that great, cause in reality the colors are so intense and the metal is so sparkly :) The 2 brown purses are actually the same chocolate brown, but in the picture they seem different ... weird :P I bought just this "basic" colors, cause I have enough colored bags :P

Last but not least is some jewelry: a wooden ring with silver ornaments, a huge turquoise stone ring and a necklace with a "tooth", shaped like an elephant :) Of course I bought me a nail polish, some no name brand but so pretty. It´s a clear polish with holographic star-glitter! *sigh* Beautiful :D And I made some progress! I bought only 1 polish!! :P That´s it for my holiday haul and now I wanna know, what do you guys like to buy on your vacations ? Souvenirs, Nail Polish, Clothes or maybe something else ?

Ah, I almost forgot to show you how red hair looks like, after 10 days of sun and salty water :D

I have orange tips, and the red really washed out :D But that doesn´t matter, cause I had to dye it anyways, because of the roots :)

Oh how much I missed you all .. and my blog.. and doing my nails :D I just came home 2 hours ago and I read all your sweet comments and they made me smile :) So thank you! ;)
Later today I will post a Holiday Haul and some other stuff, and I think starting Monday I will post again regularly :) Maybe even tomorrow :D
But for now I´m going to drink my coffee and enjoy reading all the posts I missed out the past 2 weeks :)

Good morning my old and new followers ;)
I won´t post anymore ... for 2 weeks :P I´m going to Greece today to enjoy my vacation :) Of course I won´t be able to post anything and since my nails were in a really bad condition the past few weeks, I didn´t had the chance to prepare some posts. But as soon as I come back I will post again regularly ;)
